So that we can group shooters of a similar ability for our Club Aggregate competition we have a CLUB grading system. Please note that your Club Grade may not necessarily be the same as your BFTA Grade. For those members who have a valid BFTA card their BFTA grade can be seen on the BFTA website.
At the end of each year a shooter's percentage points from each round of both Club Aggregate and Head to Head competitions will be totalled, and then divided by the total number of rounds they have shot, to give an average percentage score. This will be the basis for allocating grades for the following year.
For 2019 and onwards the Grading bands will be as follows:
Grade A - 85 to 100%
Grade B - 69 to 84.99%
Grade C - 0 to 68.99%
New members will automatically be placed in Grade A but this will be revised after they have shot 4 rounds. Their Grade may then be changed to reflect their current ability.
For the Club Aggregate competition, awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each grade. Our Head to Head competition is not graded, so awards will be given to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
The final "average percentage" for one year forms the starting point for the Most Improved Shooter competition for the next. Members can see their Club Grade for the year and their fluctuating projected Grade for the following year on a round by round basis by viewing the Most Improved Shooter leaderboard
